Theory

Musicianship

Musicianship is the ability to “think in sounds”, to hear music and understand how it is put together, and to see music written down and know how it sounds. If theory is the ‘brains’ of music, musicianship is the ‘ears and heart’

Harmony

The language of chords in music, including chord construction, harmonic progression, chord voicings, voice-leading, key relationships.

Counterpoint

The art of writing two or more independent musical lines which sound simultaneously; music’s unique ability to say more than one thing at the same time comprehensibly.

Sibelius software

Sibelius is music notation software, which is usually considered the industry standard. With Sibelius you can write, play back, edit, print and publish online your musical scores.

Cancellation Policy

Lessons cancelled with 24-48 hours notice: £10 per half hour of lesson time will be charged

Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice: A full lesson fee will be charged
